Open House Details:

Plan to arrive at the Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life, 238 Thompson Street, Grand Hall (5th Floor) between 8:45 and 9:15am. Students (and their families) could attend the morning information session and campus tour, but not audition at this time.

Auditions on November 10 are optional; early decision candidates who have submitted their application by the November 1 deadline, may use this date to complete a live audition.

The Director of Steinhardt Music and Performing Arts and the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions will provide a very important and informative morning Welcome Session at 9:30am with details about music and performing arts studies at NYU, admissions, financial aid, housing, career opportunities and more. This morning welcome session will include a Q & A which all auditionees and parents should attend.

Auditions begin at 11:00am; sign up for auditions will be available at 8:45am, with the exception of Vocal Performance students who will be contacted in advance for a specific audition time. Audition times will accommodate travel/time constraints whenever possible. Practice rooms and warm-up time will be provided; amplifiers will be provided for Jazz Performance auditions. Music Business and Music Technology students do not audition on November 10. After the morning session, business and tech students and parents will meet with the program director and current students for a targeted information session.
