Pre-RN Community Service at Future America Learning Center and Field Trip to South Street Seaport Bodies Exhibit

The Metro Center / 1199 WorkForce Pre-RN students fulfilled their community service requirement by conducting workshops at the 1199SEIU Child Care Centers. Workshop topics included hand washing, healthy foods, and exercising through rotations in three classrooms. Pre-RN students utilized many well known games and songs and incorporated health education creatively in order to help the children understand the importance of staying healthy and ways to be healthy.

After this community service, Pre-RN students went to the Bodies Exhibit for a tour. The Exhibition provides an intimate and informative view into the human body. Curious Pre-RN students had their questions answered by professional medical students who were available at every station.
