S Khalilah Brann

S Khalilah Brann has spent a decade as an educator with the New York City Department of Education, at several schools with underserved communities. Ms. Brann taught English and History to students in grades 9-12; 17-21 year olds in a transfer school setting; and students of all ages in a GED setting. Her experience includes being an instructional coach and curriculum developer, department head, mentor teacher and NYC Common Core Fellow. Ms. Brann was an Associate Adjunct Professor in the Department of Education at Long Island University teaching classes that dealt with Issues in Urban Education. A life-long learner Ms. Brann earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from City College of New York; a Master’s of Education from Long Island University; and Post Master’s Advance Certificate in Educational Leadership from Long Island University.
