>Margary Martin, Senior Researcher in Metro Center’s Research Evaluation and Policy Center has been invited to participate in an invitational conference in Germany in Mid-February.

>Metro Center announces several staff changes.The Technical Assistance Center on Disproportionality (TACD) has added four new project associates to its staff including Roey Ahram, Chemay Morales-James, Keisha Oxford, and Nicholas Handville. Charlotte Gray, project associate at TACD will now serve as the lead in coordinating the project.

>Marguerite Lukes of the NYS Spanish BETAC at Metro Center collaborated with local community-based Plazas Comunitarias partners to share information on the educational needs of Spanish-speaking adult immigrants in New York State. This video, prepared by undergraduates in the Gallatin School at NYU, provides background information, statistics and testimonials of students enrolled in the Plaza Comunitaria run by the community-based UVEA (Volunteers for Adult Education).

>Dr. Pedro A. Noguera, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Center for Urban Education, announced that the USDOE has awarded the Center a new contract for its Upward Bound Program.

>Dr. LaRuth Gray, Metro's Deputy Director, has been appointed to the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee.
