THE HIP-HOP EDUCATION RESEARCH PROJECT is a yearlong national census of Hip-Hop-based education courses and programs in middle schools, high schools, after-school programs, higher learning institutions, and community building organizations. This study is made possible with support from the Nathan Cummings Foundation. Report was released October 2011.

 

THE H2ED CENTER'S ARCHIVES is a repository of over 1,500 Hip-Hop Education resources and materials including, books, magazines, journals, digital movies and trailers, weblinks, dissertation papers, thesis, published articles, games, and CD's. The H2ED Athttp://h2edwiki.wetpaint.com

  

THE H2ED EXCHANGE PROGRAM propels and supports the concept of Hip-Hop exchanges worldwide. The H2ED Center's NYC Headquarter is a visiting and learning exchange site where Hip-Hop artists, activists, students and educators can learn and conduct research, attend lectures, participate in workshops, meet and greet pioneers and leaders from the community, and exchange stories, art, and music. 

 

 

2010-2011 PARTNERS:

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE, BUREAU OF EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS PROGRAM'S VISITORS PROGRAM - The H2ED Center is a community partner of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ Cultural Visitors program, managed by the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the Kennedy Center, it offers professional development opportunities to 56 emerging international artists. Participants in this program will work with renowned hip-hop dancers, exploring the history of hip-hop culture and dance in the United States. http://www.kennedy-center.org/education/state/cultural/description.cfm#dance

BRONX BERLIN CONNECTION EXCHANGE PROGRAM - The H2ED Center is a community partner and sponsor for the Bronx Berlin Connection Exchange Program, which engages youth from Bronx, NY & Berlin, Germany in a cultural exchange that uses hip hop to explore and express the unique experiences of urban youth around the world, the critical challenges they face and the solutions necessary to enact change in their communities. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=131694760201954
