EDUCATION LEADERS ISSUE REPORT TO STIMULATE CHANGES IN POLICIES
TO ENHANCE DIVERSITY, ACHIEVEMENT IN U.S. SCHOOLS
A
consortium of national education leaders, including former
U.S. Education Secretary Richard Riley, will release "With
All Deliberate Speed," which offers a series of
recommendations to address the issues of achievement, citizenship,
and diversity in American education, on Mon., Nov. 14, 10
a.m. at NYU’s Kimmel Center for University Life (60
Washington Square South, Room 909 [at LaGuardia Place]).
Also to be released will be “Responding to Hurricane
Katrina Through Education,” a consortium study
that discusses the links among the issues of poverty, race,
and education. The project is under direction of Dr. Lamar
Miller, Executive Director Emeritus, Metro Center and funded
in part by The Rockefeller Foundation and with the financial
support of The McGraw-Hill Companies and Time Warner. |
