In late November, the Black and Latino Advocacy Coalition convened an educational policy forum to share findings regarding the severity of the problem of low academic achievement among Black and Latino males in New York City, identify factors contributing to the problem, and examine current policies, with the goal of advocating on behalf of these two vulnerable populations.
The forum was moderated by Dr. Pedro Noguera, Professor of Sociology at New York University and Executive Director of the Metropolitan Center for Urban Education.
