Executive Council

The Executive Council of the Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools, initiated by Dr. LaMar Miller, continues under the leadership of Dr. David E. Kirkland. Distinguished leaders from varied disciplines and leading institutions comprise the Council, which, through its diverse accomplishments and experiences, assists in piloting the future growth and development of the Center. Dr. Kirkland looks to the Council as a trusted think tank to ensure that the programs and efforts of NYU Metro Center continue to address the needs of vulnerable populations, and in particular those who attend American public schools.

Brain Trust (Internal Advisory Group)

NYU Metro Center's "Brain Trust" is an internal advisory group, composed of Center leadership. The Brain Trust as a cabinet to the Executive Director, providing key and needed advice on Center operations, programs, projects, and so on. The Brain Trust is charged with helping to steer and development the Center, and contribute to helping the Center focus upon and achieve its broad vision and daily objectives.

The Special Advisory to the Executive Director includes past NYU Metro Center Executive Director and seasoned and leading equity scholars across the country. This intimate group of personal advisors provide the Executive Director with leadership support, institutional memory, and counsel.
