The Mentor Network
The Wasserman Center's Mentor Network helps students explore careers by linking them with alumni and other professionals who are interested in providing information and guidance about their chosen professions. This program gives students an "inside look" at career options through informational interviewing, networking and observation. The program is not designed for job networking, but rather it serves as an educational and informational program to enhance a student's career exploration. Participating students are prepared for the Mentor Network through a counseling and screening process designed to assess their career planning readiness. Mentors gain the satisfaction of helping NYU students make sound career decisions by sharing information and expertise about their careers.
Visit the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development for more information.
In addition, each semester, Dean Mary Brabeck hosts a Roundtable Series featuring prominent and distinguished NYU Steinhardt alumni and parents. Created to provide a forum for industry-specific issues, the Roundtable Series offers students the unique opportunity to learn from and chat with some of today's top leaders in education, health, non-profit services, media, communications, entertainment, fashion, and much more. Plus, each spring semester, our department hosts the Media, Culture, and Communication Student/Alumni Career Roundtables. The event is free, though registration is required. Details will be emailed to all MCC students during the spring semester.
