Barbara Haum
Areas of interest include: women's relationship to literature and art over the centuries; the historical development of artist related book practices through the critique of text. Received the Doctoral Dissertation Awards Competition: Outstanding Dissertation in Women's Studies, NYU; CIT in Internet Technologies. Her fine art work is installation- as well as performance-based. Internationally exhibited and funded projects include: The Girl Who Stepped on Bread; Bread not Stone; Separation Anxiety; Instruments for the Messiah; Midrash with Spoiled Milk and others. Project in process: "Lunar Performances: Creating an Architecture of Text in Time." Her work is found in many public and private collections such as the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Paris France, The Photography Forum, Frankfurt, Germany.
