We are now in the midst of the largest wave of immigration in history. In every region of the world – Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania – large and growing numbers of people are on the move. While there is a great deal of academic and policy work devoted to the study of immigration, the research focusing on the experiences of immigrant children, youth, and families is limited. Immigration Studies @ NYU is devoted to the scholarly study of immigration with a focus on children, youth and families. IS@NYU focuses on basic research that is comparative, interdisciplinary and longitudinal. Through research, lectures, publications and media outreach, it endeavors to enhance the scholarly understanding of one of the most pervasive and complex issues of our times.
