Working Group - Investments
Recent surveys have suggested that children's cognitive and noncognitive outcomes are shaped early in life. Investments of Time and resources by families during the early childhood years has been argued to have a long-term impact on later outcomes in the form of children's cognitive abilities, attitudes, and social skills. IHDSC's Investment Working Group members are focusing on the process of skills formation depending on the history of inputs applied by families as well as other environmental factors. Special emphasis is placed on the role of the timing of the investments during the developmental process.
