Tara Gonsalves is a research associate at IESP. Her research interests include the sociology of education, social stratification, and Postcolonial and South Asian studies. Prior to joining IESP, Tara worked as a researcher with the Akshara Foundation, based in Bangalore, India, and examined the effectiveness of remedial intervention programs in government schools. She has also worked in Indonesia, where she received a Fulbright to teach English in a vocational high school in Semarang, Central Java. She graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with a Master's in International Education policy, and from Brown University with a B.A. in Development Studies and Economics.
