Erin Cocke is a research assistant at IESP and a fifth year PhD student in the Sociology of Education program at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development at NYU. Erin is also an Institute for Education Sciences pre-doctoral fellow. Her research interests are in education policy analysis and quantitative methodology. Prior to joining IESP, she was a public school teacher in North Carolina, teaching in both kindergarten and Head Start classrooms. She received her undergraduate degree in Child Development and Family Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her dissertation focuses on accountability and teacher time use, teacher effectiveness and school context.
