Getting Started
Congrats and welcome you to NYU! Here are a few brief notes which will help you make your decision and prepare you for the fall 2011 semester.
Welcome Student Reception: The Education and Social Policy Program faculty and staff would like to cordially invite you to an Accepted Students Wine & Cheese Reception on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 6:30pm-8pm. This event is located in Kimball Lounge at 246 Greene Street, 3rd floor, NY, NY 10003. You will have an opportunity to meet with faculty, current students, and new students. If possible, please rsvp here.
Registration and Advisement: By the end of June, you will receive a Welcome Letter from the director of the program, Leanna Stiefel, with all relevant information regarding registration and advisement. As well, your fall course options will be detailed. Once you receive this letter, the information will also be readily available online under “New Students.”
Please note: the admissions acceptance letter indicates that you need to meet with an advisor prior to registration. For the Education and Social Policy Program, this is not necessary. Once you receive and review this letter, if you have specific questions, feel free to contact me directly at cse3@nyu.edu or (212) 992-9408. Otherwise, you are all set to register on your own.
Fall 2011 Orientation: Details will be listed in the Welcome Letter. This event is required for all students.
First Day of Classes: The first day of classes will be Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Prior to the first day of classes, you should make sure to have an NYU photo ID card. More details will be sent to you as the semester nears.
Financial Aid: Questions about the FAFSA, federal aid, student loans or college work study should be directed to NYU's Office of Financial Aid at (212) 998-4444 or financial.aid@nyu.edu. Information about school based scholarships can be found on our website at http://steinhardt.nyu.edu/financial_aid/. Our program is not involved in the financial aid process.
Questions? If you have any questions regarding anything related to the decision-making process or any of the aforementioned activities, please feel free to email Carly Einstein, Program Coordinator, directly at cse3@nyu.edu.
