The Institute for Education and Social Policy conducts non-partisan scientific research about U.S. education and related social issues. Our research, policy studies, evaluations, seminar series, and technical assistance inform and support policy makers, educators, parents and others in their efforts to improve public schooling.

The Research Alliance for New York City Schools is a non-partisan research center that is committed to producing rigorous evidence about the challenges of ensuring that all students have access to a high quality education in New York City and about the effectiveness of programs and policies aimed at addressing those challenges.

The Center for Research on Culture, Education, and Development at New York University is a research center and training site dedicated to the study of developmental processes, context, and culture in children and families from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.

The Steinhardt Institute for Higher Education Policy focuses research inquiry on the following: access and opportunity; assessment and evaluation; international policy; and quality assurance collaboration.

The Metropolitan Center for Urban Education  collaborates with various entities in conducting research and evaluation on substantive educational issues. These collaborations are premised on the understanding that applied research can and should assist in answering the questions persisting in educational practice.

The NYU Child Study Center's research program is made up of seven institutes, which work to advance the scientific knowledge, prevention, and treatment of critical mental health problems facing children and adolescents.
