The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development invites outstanding undergraduate students to challenge themselves intellectually, engage in independent research, and extend their academic exploration beyond our geographic borders. The Steinhardt Honors Program offers opportunities for enriched study, travel colloquia, independent research, leadership development, and social and cultural activities.
Students with at least a 3.5 GPA and meeting other requirements as specified may participate in the Steinhardt Honors Program as freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors.
Over the course of undergraduate study, honors students may:
- Enroll in special honors courses
- Participate in travel colloquia to destinations around the world
- Conduct independent student research under the supervision of a faculty member
- Engage in community service and other leadership activities
- Compete for University and National Scholarships
- Be placed on the Dean's Honor Roll (List)
- Be invited to participate in departmental junior and/or senior activities and honors
- Graduate with Latin Honors
