ASHA's new Hip on Health series is now available.

What is Hip on Health Mini Posters and Parent Information Sheets Series? Each mini-poster and its accompanying parent information sheet addresses a single idea or recommendation related to the health, safety and well-being of children =96 particularly young children. Mini-posters provide accurate, useful information in 10 short sentences or less. Parent information sheets provide in-depth information and describe ways to ensure their child's health and safety. The cartoon strip on each sheet and poster also helps to educates parents in a humorous way.

Each Hip on Health set, which provides information in several areas of comprehensive school health education, includes 15 parent information sheets and 15 mini-posters examining 15 different topics. The reproducible white master copies can be duplicated and distributed as often as you wish.

Some Suggested Uses for the Hip on Health Series:

*Teachers in Head Start, preschool, elementary schools and daycare programs can print the mini-posters on brightly colored paper and post where parents are likely to see them. Parent information sheets also can be duplicated and sent home.

*Mini-posters can be displayed in examination or waiting rooms of children's hospitals, health, dental and other clinics and community service offices.

* Mini-posters can be prepared as overhead transparencies to illustrate a concept during workshops or discussions for parents, child care staff or babysitters-in-training.
