GSO Executive Board
About GSO
The Graduate Student Organization (GSO) is the student government for all Steinhardt graduate students. GSO seeks to provide activities and services which assist students in their graduate and post-graduate work. All students enrolled in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development are automatically members of GSO. Our Goals Are:
- To promote better communication among graduate students, faculty and the administration
- To develop programs of cultural, recreational, professional, and intellectual enrichment for graduate students
- To provide activities and services which will assist students in their graduate and post-graduate work
- To strengthen the Steinhardt community and bridge the relationships between academic programs through diverse programs.
GSO EXECUTIVE BOARD
President
John Michael Lee, Jr.
- Runs executive board and general body meetings
- Participates Graduate Affairs Committee and Faculty meetings
- Oversees and acts as liaison for GSO
Vice President
Marina Vaserman
- Coordinates the Competitive Grant process
- Conducts elections and executive board appointment process
- Participates in the Student Affairs Committee and University Council of Student Affairs meetings
University Senator
Danielle Picou- Participates in the University Senate, Student Senators Council (SSC), and University Committe on Student Life (UCSL)
- Represents Steinhardt interests at the broader university level
Treasurer
Emily Lyons
- Coordinates the budget for GSO
- Handles requests for funding from departments and students groups
- Participates in the Graduate Governance Committee meetings
Secretary
Ena M. Hilaire
- Records meeting discussions and official votes
- Coordinates GSO communications
- Participates in the School Planning Committee meetings
Public Relations Coordinator
Ruby Huang
- Oversees alumni relations and coordinates alumni events
- Works with event coordinator to promote events
Event Coordinator
Rezia Luke
- Plans events for the Steinhardt graduate community
- Works with other NYU schools on co-sponsored events
- Develops ways to build community
