2011 Baccalaureate Celebration

More than 750 baccalaureate graduates in applied psychology, art, communication, education, health, and music participated in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development Baccalaureate Celebration on Tuesday, May 17th at Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan. The 6000-seat theatre was filled to capacity with proud and cheering relatives and friends. The program included remarks by Dean Mary Brabeck, Vice Chancellor of Strategic Planning Richard Foley, Professor Joseph McDonald, Distinguished Achievement Awardee Senator Velmanette Montgomery, BS ‘71, and baccalaureate graduate Kathleen F. Sylvester. The ceremony included personal handshakes on stage for each graduating student and was punctuated by the sounds of the NYU Brass Ensemble, the NYU Pipes and Drums, and the Music Theatre Ensemble. The ceremony concluded with a rousing rendition of a Steinhardt favorite, "New York, New York."
