UK: Intern Abroad in Arts Management

Intern full-time at a leading arts organization in London this summer. Through supervised management projects in an international setting, you’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience and advance your career. In past summers, interns worked at renowned museums, galleries, live performing art venues, music and media businesses, and other related organizations.

Program Dates:

10 to 12 weeks in duration, dependent upon agreement with organization. NYU housing is available as an option for students from May 31 to August 15, 2015.

Students register for 1 to 3 points and may choose from the following courses. Students should consult with their academic advisor for approval.

MPAPA-GE 2002 (Class Number: 6281) Internship: Performing Arts Centers (1-3 points, variable)

ARVA-GE 2302 Section 099 (Class Number: 1915) - Internship in Art (1-3 points, variable)

MPAMB-GE 2301 Section 099 (Class Number: 1874) - Music Business Graduate Internship (1-3 points, variable)

Important Note: All program applicants are encouraged to meet with their academic adviser to determine if and how this course may be applied towards their program requirements and degree completion.


Participants will work with faculty from their respective programs to complete internship requirements. NYU faculty are not on site at the internship location. In-country logistical support is provided by NYU in London staff.



2015 graduate tuition: $1,479 per credit, plus registration and services fees

2015 housing and activity fees: $3,300

Work visa: $950

Housing and activity fees are billed through the NYU Office of the Bursar and will be due in accordance with the Bursar's billing schedule.

International airfare to and from the program location is not included in the program fee. Students must purchase their own round-trip tickets and are responsible for their own accommodation for travel beyond the program dates.

Housing is available in partnership with NYU London in university residence halls.

Flight, Travel, and Visa Information:

Flight: Students book their own travel to coincide with program dates. Please keep in mind that flights arriving into London typically depart New York a day in advance.

Passport: All program participants are required to have a valid passport, which must be valid at least six months beyond the program end date.

Visa: The UK requires work visas for student interns. Students accepted to the intern abroad program will receive instructions upon confirmation of internship placement. A third-party provider will facilitate the work visas for student interns. Additional details to be provided to provisionally accepted students.
