Intern Abroad Program: Arts Management

Intern full-time at a leading arts organization in London this summer. Through supervised management projects in an international setting, you’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience and advance your career. In past summers, interns were offered placements at renowned museums, galleries, live performing art venues, music and media businesses, and other related organizations.

London, England

Program Dates:

10 to 12 weeks in duration, dependent upon placement. NYU housing is available as an option for students from May 31 to August 3, 2014.

Apply between October 15 and November 18, 2014.

  • Non-NYU graduate students and professionals who are not enrolled at an academic institution

The Intern Abroad: Arts Management opportunity is restricted to NYU Arts Management graduate students only.

Students register based on their degree requirements, from the following:

MPAPA-GE 2002 (Clas Number 3074) Internship: Performing Arts Centers (3 credits)

ARVA-GE 2302 Section 099 (Class Number 3053) - Internship in Art (3 credits)

MPAMB-GE 2301 Section 099 (Class Number 3003) - Music Business Graduate Internship (3 credits)

Important Note: All program applicants are encouraged to meet with their academic adviser to determine if and how this course may be applied towards their program requirements and degree completion.

Faculty:

Participants will work with faculty from their respective programs to complete internship requirements. NYU faculty are not on site at the internship location. In-country logistical support is provided by NYU in London staff.

 

Tuition:

2014 graduate tuition: $1,422 per credit, plus registration and services fees

Undergraduate tuition: If enrolling in an undergraduate course number, your tuition will reflect the current undergraduate cost per credit.

Other Costs:

2014 housing and activity fees: $3,300

Work visa: $950

Housing and activity fees are billed through the NYU Office of the Bursar and will be due in accordance with the Bursar's billing schedule.

International airfare is not included. Students must purchase their own tickets. Recommended airfare search engines: Vayama, Kayak, Bing

Accommodations:

Housing is arranged in partnership with NYU London in university residence halls. Accommodation dates correspond with the program dates listed above.

Flight, Travel, and Visa Information:

Flight: Students book their own travel to coincide with program dates. Please keep in mind that flights arriving into London typically depart New York a day in advance.

Passport: All program participants are required to have a valid passport, which must be valid at least six months beyond the program end date.

Visa: The UK requires work visas for student interns. Students accepted to the intern abroad program will receive instructions upon confirmation of internship placement. A third-party provider will facilitate the work visas for student interns. Additional details to be provided to provisionally accepted students.
