Dance Education, Tenure Track: Assistant Professor
New York University’s Dance Education Program in the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions in the Steinhardt School invites applications for a full- time, tenure track position in Dance Education. This longstanding degree program offers an MA and a PhD in Dance Education emphasizing the integration of research, pedagogy and artistry. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in research, pedagogy and higher education, advise masters theses and doctoral dissertations, and participate in curriculum and program development. Other responsibilities could include supervising student teachers, writing educational resource guides, supervising outreach work in field settings, and student recruitment. Involvement in department and school committees is also expected.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree; teaching and research experience in dance education at the graduate level; have research published in leading journals and university presses; demonstrated record or clear potential for a program of research and external funding; administrative experience in higher education; national and international dance education presentation and teaching experience; and ability to form partnerships with regional, national and international public and private organizations.
