Art and Art Professions, Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor, Visual Arts Administration
The Department of Art and Art Professions is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant/Clinical Associate Professor, non-tenure track position in Visual Arts Administration. Begun in 1978, this is a highly competitive graduate program with both non-profit and for-profit tracks. The successful candidate will have a variety of work experience in visual arts institutions, a commitment to entrepreneurial thinking, and a broad range of professional skills. He/she will teach existing courses, including the thesis sequence, and develop new courses. Teaching areas may include the production, management, curating, and marketing of contemporary art (including new media and performance) in different types of venues, the technology interface with arts institutions, and arts administration issues in global settings.
Qualifications include a graduate degree in art history or visual studies and experience as a proven and highly visible arts administrator. A full-time commitment to teaching and advisement is required. Strong track record of teaching at the University level is highly preferred.
