Maura Gouck is an Urban Master Teacher with many years of experience in NYC public secondary schools as an English teacher and program coordinator.  She served as a cooperating teacher for students of both public and private universities. She continues her work with pre-service students as a supervisor of English Education in the Office of Clinical Studies and as an instructor of student teaching seminars in the English Education Program. Working with colleagues she extended support for NYU's recent graduates by contributing to the design of the Early Career Project to provide on-site proessional development workshops which enabled participants to best meet the educational needs of English language learners and learning disabled students. As the current Director of the Fast Track Program, Maura works with academic program directors,  the Office of Clinical Studies, and the Partnership for Teacher Excellence to further improve the preparation of teachers committed to public education in urban settings.
