Tsega A. Mehreteab
Clinical Professor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Tsega Andemicael Mehreteab is Clinical Professor of Physical Therapy in the Department at New York University. She received her BS in Physical Therapy from Hunter College, City University of New York, and her MS in Physiology from Rutgers University and DPT in Physical Therapy from Temple University. She is the Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy for Practicing Physical Therapists (DPT-PPT) program. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Mehreteab has been actively involved in promoting the physical therapy profession both nationally and internationally. She served as the Vice-president and Treasurer of the APTA-Section in Clinical Electrophysiology, and Chair of the Cultural Diversity Committee of the Academy of Geriatric – American Physical Therapy Association. She has conducted numerous lectures and workshops in Eritrea (East Africa) on physical therapy interventions, health and wellness, and professional practice and behavior. Dr. Mehreteab is a published author with her most recent text entitled Integrating Physical Agents in Rehabilitation (2nd Edition), Appleton and Lange Pub.
Dr. Mehreteab’s areas of expertise are in clinical electrophysiology, exercise physiology, physiology of the cardiovascular system, cardiovascular/pulmonary physical therapy, and geriatric physical therapy.
Dr. Mehreteab is also Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (CEEAA) by the Section on Geriatrics, American Physical Therapy Association
