Visiting Assistant Professor, Public Health
Margaret Giorgio is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Health. Margaret has a PhD in Public Health, which she earned from NYU Steinhardt's Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health. Margaret received her MPH from Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health, with a concentration in Sexuality and Health. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College.
Giorgio's primary research interests are sexual and reproductive health in the developing world. Her dissertation research focused on HIV risk and social support among female, foreign migrants in Cape Town, South Africa.
Giorgio began her research career at the Guttmacher Institute in New York City. She has also conducted research with Planned Parenthood Federation of America and South Africa's Medical Research Council.
