Darlene Monda is a New York State licensed Speech/Language Pathologist whose areas of clinical expertise include treatment of adult neurogenic disorders and traumatic brain injury. She recently pioneered a collaborative Speech/Music Therapy program in conjunction with the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function. She has presented her work at conferences and on the PBS Special “The Music Instinct~Science and Song”. Monda focuses on the development, teaching and execution of functional communication protocols for co-treatments of individuals with acquired language loss whose ability to regain language skills are greatly enhanced by the inclusion of music in the session. She also specializes in voice, speech and accent training for performing artists and others who wish to enhance their professional communication skills. She earned a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from William Paterson University in 1982, and her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association in 1984.
