Born in New Jersey, art critic and poet Barry Schwabsky currently lives and works in London. His publications include: The Widening Circle: Book Left Open in the Rain; Consequences of Modernism in Contemporary Art; the introduction to Vitamin P: New Perspectives in Painting; Jessica Stockholder; and Gillian Wearing: Mass Observation. He is also a regular critic on Artforum, and has taught at NYU, Yale, and Goldsmiths College in London.
