Bob Nickas, a New York based writer, critic, and gallery and museum curator is known for his frank writing and dynamic curatorial style. He has contributed to several publications, was the founding editor for Index Magazine, and is the author of a collection of witty books and collections of essays including: After the Observatory, Collection Diary, Collection (or How I Spent a Year), and Theft is Vision( Series – Documents Series).
His intellectual and humorous take on American art has been a staple in the New York Art scene for decades. Most recently, his book Painting Abstract was released this summer coinciding with “Cave Painting” a show at PSM in Berlin, where he was asked to shake things up with his distinctive curatorial approach.
