About our MS degree in CSD

The Master of Science program in Communicative Sciences and Disorders at NYU is a full-time day-time program. Full-time status is defined as a minimum of 12 units of required course work per semester at NYU. Most students opt to take more than 12 units during their first two semesters so that their later semesters will be lighter when they are doing practicum.

Students are also exposed to current research projects at Lund University in an international environment that supports both basic and applied research.

Job Opportunities

We are pleased to report that we have 100% job placement for our graduates. Our department was one of the first to offer advanced degrees in speech-language pathology and audiology in the New York area and we are proud to have been continuously accredited by ASHA for over 30 years.

Research Opportunities

Each faculty member has an active research agenda with opportunities for students to work in a research lab on a variety of projects. Students interested in research are encouraged to work with faculty mentors and many work on their own research projects. Our program offers students an option to complete a Master’s thesis and graduate with honors.
