Psychology of Music Education

This course analyzes a wide range of published research on relationships between music education and (1) behaviorism, (2) cognitive development theory, (3) constructivism, (4) humanism, (5) human consciousness studies, (6) self-identity formation, (7) motivation theory, and (8) tests of musical intelligence and achievement. Music education contributes importantly to this dialectical exchange among competing and complementary theories.
