  • Description: History of the profession, the professional association, professionalism, individual & cultural differences, health professional/patient relationships, medical & professional ethics, & medical legal aspects of care. The student demonstrates professional behaviors in all interactions with patients, clients, families, caregivers, & other health care providers. Enables the student to practice in a safe setting & manner to minimize risk to the patient, client, therapist, & others; be aware of the practices & ramifications of sexual harassment; identify & assess the health needs of individuals, groups, & communities including screening, prevention, & wellness programs appropriate to physical therapy; display generously as evidenced by the use of time & effort to meet patient or client needs; & demonstrate social responsibility, citizenship, & advocacy including participation in community & human service organizations & activities.
