Proseminar for Doctoral Students in Teaching and Learning I

A department wide, two semester, doctoral seminar in the advance study of teaching & learning. For first year students it will serve as an induction into scholarly reading, writing & thinking culminating in the completion of a mentored project leading to candidacy. The fall semester addresses basic questions concerning scholarship & its relationship to practice. The spring semester focuses on the variety of the educational research & involves reading a variety of scholarly texts. Other doctoral students will take it as an opportunity to stay in contact with a scholarly community as they work on their dissertations.
