• Description: Provides a critical framework for students interested in building a personal body of work using sculpture materials. Assignments and readings focus on the transformation of ideas into works of art and place artistic production within the context of recent movements in sculpture as well as broader cultural issues. Students have a great deal of autonomy in conceiving & fabricating their projects. Technical assistance is given on an individual basis, & the students have regular access to the sculpture shop, where available equipment includes wood & metal tools, as well as welding, plaster, & mold-making facilities.
