• Description: Examines the style, technology & function of textiles from the eighteenth to the twentieth century. Instructor uses original examples from the textile study collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as representations in the other arts & literature. Students will acquire identification skills & a mastery of the terminology of historic textiles & their production. Includes object examination sessions at the Ratti Textile Center at the Metropolitan Museum as well as other New York museum collections.
