This intensive one-week course is designed for teacher educators & others interested in the preparation of teachers for urban schools. Participants will read & discuss contemporary literature of research on teaching, teacher education, & multiculturalism. The course is structured around developing a research & development agenda for urban teacher education. The course will feature visits to city schools, conversations with teachers & preservice faculty, & presentations by distinguished urban educators & education policy makers. The final product of the course will be a draft proposal for an action research project. |
