Shakespeare Forum: Page, Stage, Engage - Proposals
We are no longer accepting proposals.
Call for Proposals
We are accepting proposals in one of three formats:
- Paper Presentations: Participants should submit a title and a 200-word abstract. Selected papers will be curated into panels based on topic area. Presenters will have 10-15 minutes to present followed by a moderated discussion between fellow presenters and conference participants. Please include your technical requests in the proposal.
- Workshops: Participants should submit a title and a 200-word description of the workshop. We define workshop as an interactive experience between the conference participants and the presenter(s), not a lecture-demonstration. Please include your technical requests in the proposal.
- Scene Presentations: Theatre companies should submit a scene from one of Shakespeare's plays for presentation at the conference. Scenes should be no longer than 10 minutes in length. Participants should submit the play title along with the Act and scene that they intend to perform. In addition, participants must submit a 200-word point of view that describes the artistic approach to the scene. Selected scenes will be curated into scene presentation panels, where each scene will be performed, and then a moderated discussion will follow. The Forum will provide limited resources for these presentations (acting blocks, general lighting, etc.)
Deadline to submit proposals: December 1, 2007
Please submit proposals to Desiree Hamburger at email@example.com.
In the subject line of the e-mail, write Shakespeare followed by the primary presenter's last name.
