2010 Sci Ed Innovator Conference
What was the 2010 Sci Ed Innovators Day?
Sci Ed Innovators Day was a symposium hosted at New York University on Sunday, January 24, 2010 by the Jhumki Basu Foundation and NYU's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
The day was designed to bring together teachers, educators, researchers, policymakers, and science enthusiasts to explore how the visionary ideas of science educator and social activist Jhumki Basu can help transform science teaching and learning in urban schools.
Sci Ed Innovators Day also marked the launch of the Jhumki Basu Foundation and its initiatives to bring science alive for children and youth through innovative teaching and outreach. The program included speakers and presenters from NASA, Cisco Systems, New York University, Ashoka Changemakers, New York Hall of Science, and New York City Public Schools to participate in the two-hour program. Following the symposium guests were invited to particpate in a Science Expo featuring New York City students and teachers and their science projects, displays, and presentations.
