Welcome to French Horn Day at NYU Steinhardt

October 2nd marked the fourth annual French Horn Day in the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions.  This annual event was created and hosted by Dr. Sean Reed, Director of Brass Studies, along with Brass Studies Faculty members Joseph Anderer [Principal Horn, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra], Barbara Oldham [Quintet of the Americas] and Ann Ellsworth [Kristjan Jarve's Absolute Ensemble, the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble and the alternative horn group Confluence].
FHD 2011 consisted of solo master classes, a presentation on intervallic intonation exercises, a roundtable discussion on careers in performance and education and an evening recital featuring faculty performances, a Festival Horn Choir and the NYU Brass Choir.

The popular event has continued to draw French Horn players from the tri-state area and beyond. 2011

You are cordially invited to join us for a daylong event for talented high school and college-age French Horn players. Activities include master classes, group ensemble playing and more.
