3rd Annual ASD Nest New School Year Kick-off

The 3rd Annual ASD Nest New School Year Kickoff was a huge success!

At our largest Kickoff yet, 500 teachers, therapists, and administrators came together to celebrate the start of a new school year. They heard an inspirational and hilarious student speech from Millennium Brooklyn 11th grader, Colin Ozeki, a rousing keynote from Paula Kulth, and attended breakout workshops on topics ranging from happiness to classroom setup to ASD and girls. The day ended with a raffle with over 35 prizes donated from generous sponsors, including Scholastic, Sensory Goods, CW Pencils, Oriental Trading, Po Restaurant, and more!

Special thanks to all those who helped to make the day possible:

  • Carmen Fariña, Chancellor, New York City Department of Education
  • Carmen Alvarez, Vice President, United Federation of Teachers
  • David Kirkland, Director, Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools, NYU Steinhardt
  • All 35 of our fabulous ASD Nest school principals

Check out below for more information about the day.
