As our planet grows more closely connected, global study has become an essential element of the BFA program. ArtSites programs in Berlin and Ghana allow students to work closely with international artists, exploring art across continents and cultures. Additional art courses are offered at NYU study abroad sites in Shanghai, Prague, Florence, and Abu Dhabi.
The NYU Steinhardt Art Department was selected by the foundation of Carla Bruni-Sarkozy to take part in a unique exchange program through 2012 to develop new connections between artists in Paris and New York.
The M.A. in Studio Art: Summer Program in Berlin provides artists, students of art, and current and prospective art teachers an opportunity to do serious creative studio work for university credit within a rich artistic milieu. The program follows a contemporary atelier model of studio instruction. Coursework does not strictly follow a segmented course structure and classes are instead designed to organically intersect and flow into one another.
