David Darts is Assistant Professor of Art and Art Education and Associate Director of the NYU Steinhardt MA in Studio Art Program in Venice, Italy. His research and writings about contemporary art, public pedagogy, emerging technologies and creative citizenship have been published in a number of top scholarly journals and books. He is currently working on two book projects: Creative Tools for Critical Times (CT4CT) and Digital Republic: A Citizen's Guide to Freedom. Darts is Curatorial Director of Conflux, the annual art and technology festival for the creative exploration of urban public space. He teaches courses on media literacy, technology, and theory and research in contemporary art.
