Opportunities to Join Our Staff

OPUS is looking for talented undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, and juniors to join our staff!

Benefits: Form a community by working closely with the rest of the OPUS staff, gain contact with faculty in the department, and familiarize yourself with the editorial process. Additionally, there are always opportunities to move up from Junior Staff writer to Senior Staff writer and ultimately Editorial positions, all of which are exceptional experiences to apply to graduate school and other careers!

Staff Opportunities

OPUS is currently looking to fill the following positions:

COMMUNICATIONS & PROGRAMMING DIRECTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the main contact between OPUS staff & Club Advisor
Manage social media
Coordinate marketing for events with Layout Director & Club Advisor
Communicate with Department Event Coordinator to schedule events Monitor & update budget
Prepare budget & event proposals for the academic year

Prior experience with maintaining a budget, event planning, or social media/advertising preferred, but not required.

LAYOUT & DESIGN DIRECTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design the layout for each issue and prepare for publication
Manage OPUS website & content
Create fliers for announcement & events throughout the semester

QUALIFICATIONS*

Experience/knowledge of Adobe InDesign, and Illustrator or Photoshop
Experience/knowledge of html/css, web design & management
Past experience working for publications (e.g. marketing materials, fliers, yearbook, etc.)
Examples of previous work
*past experience is preferred but not all skills are required

All applicants must be available to begin training during the Spring 2016 semester, and on the NYC campus through Fall 2016.
