Certification
Each of the M.A. Counseling & Guidance Programs prepares the student to sit for the National Certified Counselor (NCC) exam. Students may contact the National Board of Certified Counselors (http://www.nbcc.org/) for additional information. Students in the School Counseling and Bilingual School Counseling program obtain provisional certification by the State of New York upon graduation. After completing two-years of post-masters employment, graduates of the School Counseling Programs can attain permanent certification from the State of New York.
