Hello! My name is Julius and I will be the Inside Scoop! Team Captain for the Fall 2015- Spring 2016 academic year. As a sophomore majoring in Applied Psychology, I am incredibly excited to introduce incoming freshman and transfer students to all that NYU Applied Psychology has to offer! Being an international student and having recently undergone the shift into college life, my goal as a mentor is to ease everyone's transition into their new "home." My research interests within psychology include social interventions in the academic setting (particularly involving children of lower socioeconomic backgrounds and/or minority populations) and the influence of culture on emotional intelligence. I'm always open to meet casually to talk about any questions or concerns you may have - be it registration, research, or general NYU life - so feel free to reach out to me! Additionally, you can contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to getting to know you!
Hi all, Gabrielle here! I'm going to be a senior this year, and one of your Inside Scoop! mentors. During my time in APUG, I've spent over two years on a research team, spent a semester abroad in Prague, and am currently in the process of beginning my Honors research project. My thesis will explore the parenting practices of English-speaking Latino caregivers, and the relation between those practices and preschoolers' self-regulation skills. As a mentor, I want to help you get the most out of your NYU and Applied Psychology experience. Questions about course selection, studying abroad, or the world of statistics? I would be happy to help! Shoot me an email (email@example.com) and I would love to chat over coffee.
My name is Mila Hall, and I am currently a senior in the undergraduate department of Applied Psychology at NYU Steinhardt. My interests outside of psychology include visual art, museum curation, fashion design, residential life, and travelling (which I do frequently, due to the fact that my family lives in Luxembourg, a small European country). I am currently in the process of applying to graduate school, and am hoping to earn a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in order to further explore my primary research interests of trauma and post-traumatic growth, building on the research I'm involved in at NYU. I can’t wait to meet the incoming class of Applied Psychology students and help them achieve as many of their goals as possible (coffee and food will definitely be involved).
Hello! My name is Rebecca Moser, and I am currently a senior majoring in Applied Psychology and minoring in American Sign Language. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but made the leap to the big apple to come to NYU! In my spare time outside of fieldwork and research methods, I love going to sporting events, listening to music, and exploring the city.
"Born in Kenya, brought up in Uganda and India!" Hi! I'm Anjali Parmar and this statement basically defines me. I am a Sophomore at NYU studying Applied Psychology at Steinhardt, as I am particularly interested in Developmental psychology. I enjoy travelling and learning about new cultures!
