• Can I apply to both APUG Research Funding and the Dean's Grant for Student Research?
  Yes, you may apply to both. However, you can only receive funding from one source. Thus, if you apply to both funding sources and you do receive the Dean's Grant, you will be required to inform the program director, so that your application for APUG research funds can be removed from consideration.
• For which types of research support can I request funding?
  Funding can be requested for a variety of support, including equipment, supplies and materials, local travel expenses, and participant incentives.
• Do I need to be working under the guidance of a faculty mentor in order to be eligible for funding?
  Yes, students must be working on an independent research project, under the mentorship of a faculty member in order to be eligible for research funding.
• Is there a limit on the amount of funding can request?
  Yes, students can request up to $300 in funding. However, because funds are limited, applying for funds does not guarantee that your total amount will be provided.
• How will I be evaluated?
  Your supervisor will complete a brief mid-semester evaluation.  Then, toward the end of each semester your supervisor will fill out an evaluation form that you and he/she will discuss. These evaluations are intended to help you learn about your strengths and weaknesses as a developing professional.
