If I apply for funding prior to the conference and my request is denied, am I eligible to apply again after I have attended the conference?
Yes, you may re-apply after the conference, as it is possible that there will be additional funds available at that time. Please keep in mind, though, that re-applying will not guarantee funding.
-
Will money I spend for food and drink at the conference be covered?
No, you will not receive funds for any expenses related to food and drinks (alcoholic or not), or for any amenities (i.e., internet connection fee, mini-bar in your hotel room). Funding is limited to conference registration fees, hotel room cost, and travel expenses (i.e., plane, train, or bus ticket).
-
Do I have to present at the conference in order to receive funds?
All students who attend professional conferences are eligible to apply for funds. However, because funds are limited, precedence will be given to those students who present at the conferences.
-
Does applying for funds guarantee that all of my conference-related fees will be covered?
Unfortunately, because funds are limited, applying for funds does not guarantee that your conference-related expenses will be covered. In addition, even if you are awarded funds, you might be compensated for only a portion of your expenses.
-
Can I attend any professional conference of my choice?
You may attend any academic professional conference of your choice, as long as the conference is related to the field of psychology or education.

How will I be evaluated?
Your supervisor will complete a brief mid-semester evaluation. Then, toward the end of each semester your supervisor will fill out an evaluation form that you and he/she will discuss. These evaluations are intended to help you learn about your strengths and weaknesses as a developing professional.
