Pamela Morris
Pamela Morris research lies at the intersection of social policy and developmental psychology. Her work addressing the effects of parents employment and income on children has had an impact on policy at both the state and federal level. She is the Project Director and co-Principal Investigator of the Department of Health and Human Services Head Start CARES project, which is one of two large-scale cluster randomized trials Morris is conducting with researchers at MDRC. In addition she is conducting a study to understand how youth and their families are affected by Conditional Cash Transfers as part of the MDRCs Opportunity NYC Study, an initiative of Mayor Bloombergs Center for Economic Opportunity. Morris is also conducting a study to understand how low- income children are affected by parents depression. Morris is the recipient of the Emerging Leadership Award from the Committee on Socioeconomic Status of the American Psychological Association, and the William T. Grant Scholars Award. She received her doctorate in developmental psychology from Cornell University.
