SEMINAR ON RECENT ADVANCES IN ASTRONOMY

Thursday, November 12, 2009 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

239 Greene Street, Room 801

About this Event

The Recent Advances in Astronomy Seminar is a discussion of the latest astronomical news. The main topics are late-breaking events taken from online sources, newspaper articles, and weekly periodicals like Science News. Monthly magazines such as Sky & Telescope, Astronomy, and Scientific American are brought in by members. As students of astronomy, we learn and ask questions from basic through more advanced subjects - from stars, planets, astrophysics and cosmology. Debates on the significance and meaning of recent developments are common. The sessions are, of course, free.
