Rafael E. Perez Figueroa - Assistant Professor / Faculty Fellow of Public Health

Rafael E. Pérez-Figueroa, M.D., MPH is a research scientist whose interest includes the study of health disparities among sexual, racial, and ethnic minorities. In particular, Rafael’s work seeks to broaden the understanding of the HIV/AIDS pandemic by conducting theoretically driven research that disentangles the systems and practices that influence health outcomes and experiences on marginalized groups in society such as sexual minorities and Latino immigrants. Dr. Perez-Figueroa received his medical degree from the Pontifical "Madre y Maestra" Catholic University, Dominican Republic, and his Master's in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health Leadership from New York University.
